Chocolate Fondue

Have a Fondue party with friends and family. It is a great way to entertain without so much work. You'll enjoy the party and everyone will love you for it.

Serves 4-6

3/4 cup heavy whipping cream, reserve 1/4 cup to thin if fondue begins to thicken

8 ounces bittersweet chocolate

2 tablespoons liqueur of choice, optional

other optional ingredients: coconut, caramel, and/or 1/4 cup finely chopped nuts of choice, optional

Heat 1/2 cup cream in a heavy non-reactive saucepot over moderate heat until cream comes to a simmer. Remove the pan from the heat and add chocolate. Let the chocolate stand in hot cream 3 to 5 minutes to soften, then whisk chocolate together with the cream. Stir in liqueur and/or other optional ingredients.

Transfer the fondue to a fondue pot or a small crock pot.

If fondue becomes too thick, stir in reserved cream, 1 tablespoon at a time, to desired consistency.

Serve with below ingredients. Provide fondue forks or bamboo skewers for dipping

Cubed pound cake
Fruit of choice, bananas, pineapple or strawberries
mini brownie bites
